Purpose of this Conference
The conference aims to create a national platform for dialogue and knowledge exchange on kidney health, promote preventive nephrology, and strengthen advocacy on the environmental and lifestyle causes of kidney diseases in Ghana.
What We Do
We lead nationwide campaigns to raise awareness of kidney disease, its risk factors, symptoms, and prevention. Through community engagements, media advocacy, and educational resources, we empower Ghanaians to take proactive steps toward protecting their kidney health.
NephroGhana organizes free kidney screening exercises, mobile outreach programs, and health education sessions especially in underserved and high-risk communities. Early detection saves lives, and we ensure screenings are accessible and continuous.
We support research initiatives and provide opportunities for knowledge exchange, capacity-building workshops, and continuous professional development for healthcare workers.
We convene high-level scientific and clinical engagements, including the International Nephrology Conference, which brings together nephrologists, researchers, nurses, policymakers, and industry stakeholders to advance renal care practice in Ghana and beyond.
As part of our long-term commitment to improving renal care, NephroGhana is spearheading efforts to establish a Dialysis Center in the Western Region, beginning with a fully equipped facility in Tarkwa to address the critical shortage of renal services.
NephroGhana collaborates with nephrology leaders, medical associations, foundations, hospitals, universities, and international health organizations. These partnerships amplify our advocacy, strengthen service delivery, and deepen the national response to kidney disease.
We develop and distribute user-friendly educational resources on kidney health, including:
- Digital flyers and infographics
- Short videos and animations
- Radio and TV discussions
- School-based health guides
- Community learning materials
By simplifying complex medical information, we empower individuals and families to understand and protect their kidney health.
We train frontline health workers in:
- Kidney disease screening
- Blood pressure and diabetes risk assessment
- Patient education
- Referral pathways
- Community data reporting
By empowering local health workers, we strengthen Ghana’s early detection and prevention systems.
We run kidney health education programs in schools to:
- Promote healthy lifestyle habits
- Reduce youth exposure to kidney-risk behaviors
- Build early awareness
- Encourage future renal health advocates
This ensures the next generation is knowledgeable and health-conscious.
Kidney disease remains a major public health challenge in Ghana. At NephroGhana Limited, we are committed to creating awareness, building capacity, supporting early detection, expanding access to dialysis, and promoting healthier communities.
Together with our partners, supporters, and volunteers, we continue to champion a future where every Ghanaian has the opportunity to live a full and healthy life with strong kidney health.
